My Latest Discoveries
Every aspiring teacher should watch this video when they are in need of inspiration or encouragement. I've seen it several times, and I take something new from it during each and every viewing. Rita Pearson sends a powerful messages that educators should consider more during their practice.
Often, it is difficult for teachers to know if we are making an impact in children's lives because the results might not be immediate. However, many students do remember the teachers who made them feel special, who encouraged them, or who cared for them, which is what this video is all about.
I have recently experimented with the note taking technique of Sketchnoting, which is an alternative to the traditional way of taking notes in class. In order to practice this technique, I watched part of a video of a speech by Cindy Blackstock on Aboriginals, specifically Aboriginal children.
